CES winch components are manufactured in-house with mainly CNC machinery, drawings are electronically available from the latest Autodesk Inventor “Design Program”. This programme evaluates design by the information in conjunction with experimental test data and the practical experience of design engineers and analysts. A quality approach to engineering design usually mandates physical testing as the final means of validating structural integrity to a measured precision. To enable the development of BEE suppliers, the company develop a process for monitoring and encourage our procurement to do so. CES intend to use mainly preferential procurement and will increase the rating on the BEE scorecard.
The CES Equity Plan defines the functionality of the operation in CES . The Employment Equity Program establishes management’s total commitment to Employment Equity in the manner that satisfied the intent of the Employment Act , 1998. It is the Company’s Policy that Employment Equity Program is described in the Employment Equity manual and will be fully implemented .The Employment Committee has the authority and responsibility to impose the requirements of the Employment programme.
The CES Skills Plan defines the functional operation programme and establishes the Management’s total commitment to Skills Development in order to meet the operational requirements of the company including employment equity and black economic empowerment that is based on operational empowerments . Quality Control is an important part of CES. Appropriate Quality Control practices will maximize the accuracy of results reported .This program will provide management systems, standards and guidelines for quality workmanship. Our management recognize that the quality of CES is a continuous developing process and will assure the reliability of our products. These standards are set in SANS 9001:2008

The CES newly owned workshops compile of 3000 m² workspace for machining, assembling and testing of our products. Our office and training space cover 400 m² and with a stores capacity of 200m². A total of 28 machines in both workshops which the critical manufacturing facilities are CNC controlled. Each shop is equipped with a 10Ton overhead crane.

The design is is based on a powerful program to define all fundamental aspects of design and manufacturing.
International quality standards are incorporated in design and manufacturing.
Material sizing are determined by FEA tests.
Side plates are manufactured from 10-16 mm steel.
30mm Solid rods are supporting the structure to increase stiffness.
Bearing locations are machined for proper alignments on shafts with interference fit on bearings.
All shafts runs on bearings with standard pre-sealed bearings to reduce maintenance.
Increased parallelism of gear faces to each other creating a low torque turning moments even on severe axial load conditions.
Shafts are short in the compact design to result limited buckling, bending and misalignment of bearings and gears.
Less friction and proper alignment results in less friction which require smaller motor size.
Mechanical torque ratchet controls the load during lowering actions.
No welding is done on winch frame.
The only welding done is during manufacturing of the drum.
CES design has a unique bolt-on method, changing from a handwheel to an electric drive unit in situ.
